We were recently asked what types of water activities are available in the area and so we thought we’d cover that topic in this week’s blog.
The Panama City and Destin area offers a variety of water oriented activities and there is sure to be one (or more) to suit your tastes. If you feel like just hanging out on a boat close in a party atmosphere, and swimming in some emerald green, waist deep water, Crab Island is for you! This submerged sandbar is a local attraction not to be missed if you came for a party. There is snorkeling available in this area too. If you would rather go snorkeling in an underdeveloped area, seek out Shell Island. You’ll find natural grasses teaming with life. The crystal clear emerald green waters of this area make for amazing snorkeling so don’t forget your underwater camera!
If you want to have a close encounter with dolphins there are several ways to do it. You can go on a cruise and watch them swimming or you can choose a ‘swim with the dolphins’ packages available from several outfits. This will give you the opportunity to observe these beautiful, intelligent mammals up close. We are already out of time but we’ll continue this topic on our next blog.
